24/7 Carbon-Free Energy
Events
Forward-looking energy buyers have begun to embrace 24/7 carbon-free energy (CFE) — tracking their energy load temporally, shifting their demand, and purchasing CFE on an hourly basis to match their usage. This helps the grid accommodate more CFE resources and drives demand for clean energy when renewable resources are available. This is a complex topic, and there are many questions and nuances for buyers to consider as they explore 24/7 CFE.
WRI is offering a series of educational webinars on 24/7 CFE for a broad array of market participants — corporate purchasers, utilities, federal agencies, carbon free suppliers, verifiers, data providers and other stakeholders. These webinars feature content on purchasing approaches, case studies of successful deals, best practices, market instruments and policies that support 24/7 CFE purchasing. See below for links to register for upcoming 24/7 CFE webinars as well as slides and recordings from past webinars on this topic.

Data For 24/7 Carbon-Free Energy Measurement and Tracking
December 6, 2022, 11am-12pm EST
This webinar, the fourth in a series of WRI-hosted webinars on 24/7 CFE, will spotlight key data challenges surrounding 24/7 CFE, as well as approaches and solutions to these challenges. It will feature panelists from Iron Mountain, a global storage and information management services company committed to 24/7 CFE; FlexiDAO, a software and solutions provider that helps energy buyers reach their 24/7 CFE goals; and Electricity Maps, a platform for understanding the carbon impact of electricity consumption in real-time. Presentations from the speakers will be followed by a Q&A session with audience participation.
Tracking and Verifying 24/7 Carbon-Free Energy Purchases
August 31, 2022, 10-11am EDT
Commonly accepted standards for tracking and trading time-based clean energy attributes can help make 24/7 Carbon-Free Energy (CFE) attainable for energy buyers. The standards and platforms associated with hourly energy attribution certificates, often referred to as Time-based Energy Attribute Certificates (T-EACs) or Granular Certificates (GCs), are a relatively new concept and currently in development. But how do these certificates differ from traditional Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs)? How do they work? And how much demand is there for them?
Supply Products for 24/7 Carbon-Free Energy
Thursday July 28th, 2022, 3-4:15pm EDT
Many forward-looking cities, companies and institutions have begun to pursue 24/7 carbon-free energy (CFE). As momentum builds, new 24/7 CFE supply offerings have emerged. But what do these 24/7 CFE supply products look like? How do they work? How were they developed? And how much demand is there for them? In the second webinar of a WRI-hosted series on 24/7 Carbon Free Energy, experts will tackle these questions and more.
