Rajat is a Research Analyst II in WRI's Economics Center. He supports the work of WRI's Economics Center and different WRI programs by conducting research as well as data and spatial analysis on topics including the economics of climate change mitigation and deep decarbonization in sectors such as power, transportation, and buildings; the impacts of clean energy investments and transition on employment creation, workforce development, and equity-related outcomes; and barriers and enabling conditions impacting gender equality and access to climate adaptation finance in the agriculture sector, among others.

Prior to joining WRI, Rajat held research positions at the University of Chicago's Becker Friedman Institute for Research in Economics and the Nepal Economic Forum in Kathmandu.

Rajat holds a M.S. in Environmental Economics and Urban Planning from Tufts University and a B.A. in Political Economy from Bennington College.

In his spare time, Rajat enjoys watching and playing soccer, cooking, walking, and reading.
