Reefs at Risk from Individual Local Threats and All Threats Integrated

This figure provides a summary of the four individual local threats (overfishing and destructive fishing, marine-based pollution and damage, coastal development, and watershed-based pollution) and the integrated local threat index. The sixth column reflects the full integrated threats to the world’s reefs and incorporates past thermal stress. Globally, more than 60 percent of the world’s coral reefs are threatened by local activities and 75 percent are threatened when past thermal stress is included.
