Subrata is Senior Manager with the Climate Program at WRI India. He is involved in various research work based on the thematic areas of informing the next round of NDCs, long-term strategies and electric mobility. He works extensively on technical review of GHG estimates and methodologies for key economic sectors. He supports the team that engages with the Indian states on various sub-national climate mitigation work. He is also involved in various capacity building initiatives based on internationally accepted guidelines and standards.

Subrata previously led GHG abatement projects while working as a Consultant with India's leading infrastructure and finance conglomerates and secured technical due diligence for commercialization of carbon credits. He also worked as a GHG auditor with one of the UNFCCC accredited organization where he designed and led third party verification under the thematic area of RE, EE, waste handling & disposal under many voluntary and compliance market-based mechanisms.

Subrata holds masters’ degree in Energy Systems from University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, Dehradun, India. Subrata is a certified Management Systems auditor (ISO 14001:2004) and, acquired proficiency certificates on GHG Accounting for Renewable Energy Projects and Landfill Gas projects from GHG Management Institute.

Subrata is sports and fitness enthusiastic and represents couple of clubs in Delhi NCR in on-going cricket tournaments round the year.
