Sarah Carter
Research Associate
Sarah serves as the main data liaison between WRI’s core monitoring partners and the Global Forest Watch partnership.
Prior to joining WRI, Sarah has worked in Edinburgh, UK on a number of forest and carbon finance related initiatives, and has been based in Cambodia working on accessing climate finance in the NGO sector. She has more recently worked in Wageningen University, Netherlands, where she was manager of the Global Forests Observation Initiative Research & Development Component, and managed several land and forest cover mapping initiatives.
She has a PhD from Wageningen University which was completed with CIFOR, and explored agriculture as a driver of deforestation, and options for mitigation.
Sarah lives in the Netherlands with her family.
