High-Level Session on Beat the Heat/Mutirão contra o Calor Extremo
WRI’s experts are closely following the UN climate talks. Watch our Resource Hub for new articles, research, webinars and more.
Spearheaded by the COP30 Presidency and the UNEP-led Cool Coalition, Beat the Heat is a collective effort to serve as an implementation drive for all efforts on heat resilience and sustainable cooling solutions. Beat the Heat intends to strengthen national-to-local collaboration and bridge gaps in finance, policy, and deliver for extreme heat resilience and sustainable cooling.
The session will celebrate the leadership of countries, cities, and partners advancing these solutions, while announcing new commitments and collaborations under Beat the Heat. It will also highlight how Beat the Heat aligns with global climate and development frameworks, including the Global Cooling Pledge, the UN Secretary-General’s Call to Action on Extreme Heat, the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol, and the Paris Agreement.
