40 Years of U.S. Power Sector Carbon Dioxide Emissions
The Climate Watch data (previously CAIT 2.0 U.S. data), together with data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), show the historic trend of power sector CO2 emissions.
Between 1973 and 2005, U.S. power sector CO2 emissions increased by almost 90 percent. However, after emissions nearly stabilized between 2005 and 2007, the United States reversed the trend of rising CO2 emissions in recent years.
