Jon is an Ocean Specialist working on the Ocean Watch program. He leads the ocean data team in the scoping and development of an Ocean Watch platform, based on Resource Watch.

Prior to joining WRO, Jon worked as a tropical marine ecosystem project developer and manager, specialising in small-scale fisheries, marine protected areas, and blue carbon. He worked in a number of community-based conservation roles with Marine Conservation Philippines including representing coastal challenges at the UN Communities of Ocean Action, and with The Reef-World Foundation on the implementation of the UNEP Green Fins Project.

Jon holds and BSc in Archaeology and an MSc in Biological Anthropology from Bournemouth University. He also holds an MSc in Marine Systems and Policies from The University of Edinburgh.
