Irene Berman-Vaporis is the Head of Communications for Systems Change Lab and Climate Watch. She is passionate about creating compelling data-driven communications that highlight opportunities to mitigate climate change, protect nature, and build a more sustainable and equitable world.

Prior to joining World Resources Institute, Irene worked as an Infographics Editor at National Geographic, where she developed data-driven storytelling on a range of topics including biodiversity, climate change, conservation, ocean management, gender and racial equity, and global health. She was also the lead cartography researcher for the Atlas of National Parks. Previously, Irene worked as an Associate Managing Editor for Boston Magazine and an Editorial Project Manager for Sage Publications.

Irene holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Boston University (BU) and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree from BU's Questrom School of Business.
