Esther Sekyoung Choi
Associate II

Esther Choi is an Associate II, Nature-based Solutions (NbS) & Climate Private Sector. Her work focuses on identifying and developing options and opportunities that would enable the scaling of finance for NbS, through research conducted at the intersection of nature, climate, and people.
Prior to joining WRI, Esther worked as a practice-oriented researcher on climate finance, sustainable development, and international governance. She held various positions at Stanford University’s Sustainable Finance Initiative, the Green Climate Fund, the World Bank, and the Global Green Growth Institute.
Esther holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management from UC Berkeley and a master’s degree in Environmental Management from Yale School of the Environment. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her family.
