Alberto Pallecchi
Acting Director, WRI Faith and Sustainability

Alberto is Acting Director, WRI Faith and Sustainability. He works on WRI’s Faith and Sustainability initiative, supporting existing and new faith-based projects in the area of sustainability and enabling faith-based communities to identify ideas and programs that build capacity for community-level solutions to sustainability challenges. Alberto also oversees WRI Europe’s activities around natural resources, peace and security, supporting the ‘Water, Peace and Security partnership’ and coordinating outreach activities with relevant European actors.
Prior to joining WRI, Alberto worked with the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA, ACP-EU), an international development organization; the European University Institute (EUI), a research institute and also interned for a justice institute in The Hague, the Italian General Consulate in Miami, and a human rights NGO in Italy.
Alberto holds a cum laude master’s degree in Political Science from La Sapienza University of Rome, a second master’s degree in International Communication from Hanze University of Groningen, and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Roma Tre University.
Outside work Alberto is a vinyl collector, passionate with electronic music, movies and travels, and an enthusiast supporter of A.S. Roma football club.
