WASHINGTON, D.C. (December 22, 2020) – WRI will host its 18th annual Stories to Watch presentation on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. EDT. Andrew Steer, WRI’s President & CEO, will share his insights on the big moments, themes and trends on the environment, climate, human development and economics for the year ahead.

Following this year like no other, the world will begin to recover from the pandemic, with a vaccine bringing some signs of hope. Yet, countries continue to face multiple crises due to climate change, racial injustice, inequity and more. What will be the big stories in the year to come?

How will the world bounce back from COVID-19 and the economic crisis – and what lessons will we learn? How will President Biden influence global dynamics? Which other leaders will emerge? How will the relationship between the U.S. and China play out? Will climate ambition grow in the lead-up to COP26? Will the world learn to better appreciate nature and redefine our relationship with cities? What new technologies will inform action to better manage natural resources?

Stories to Watch has become a flagship event for media, government officials, business executives, consultants and experts. This year it will be 100% virtual, presented in an engaging online format.

This is a can’t miss event for those who want to understand the events, big moments and trends coming in 2021.
