COP24: Mapping, Driving and Resourcing our Climate Journey
Just a week before countries meet once again to discuss efforts to address global climate change, join WRI for a discussion on the importance of and expectations from COP24.
Join the conversation: #COP24
At the beginning of December, countries gather once again to make progress in the global fight against climate change. This year’s meeting—the 24th Conference of the Parties (COP24) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)—marks the most important moment since countries celebrated adoption of the Paris Agreement in 2015. At COP24, countries need to come to agreement on the implementing guidelines (or colloquially, the “Paris Rulebook”) necessary to operationalize the landmark 2015 agreement, signal their intention to enhance their national climate plans by 2020, and make progress on questions around finance.
Join the World Resources Institute for a discussion on these three elements of COP24: the rulebook, finance, and ambition. This event will focus on why all three are essential to the successful implementation of the Paris Agreement and why COP24 is such a pivotal moment in the global efforts to address climate change.
This event is open to members of the public.
