Local and Global
Thanking Our Donors
Thanking Our Donors
For many around the world, 2025 was a challenging year — marked by destructive floods and fires, deep political conflict, war and the loss of vital habitats. Yet, despite the challenges, 2025 showed what progress is possible with determination, innovation and partnership. As you have read in this report, WRI continued to pioneer solutions that help reshape the global economy in ways that benefit people, nature and climate — delivering impact that is both global and local. Every gift to WRI, whether large or modest, is a meaningful part of that effort.
We are proud of the diversity of our supporters — from governments and multilateral institutions to corporations, foundations, and individuals — and deeply grateful for all you make possible. Your support gives WRI the strength to navigate disruption across the climate and development landscape, including the abrupt U.S. government funding cuts in 2025. Because of flexible enterprise funding, we were able to protect core capacity, adapt quickly and keep priority efforts moving while bridging gaps where funding was suddenly withdrawn. This strength and resilience, built with our donors’ support, allow us to stay focused on impact and outcomes.
WRI’s core strength and resilience that we have built thanks to our donors means we can focus on impact and project outcomes. We are especially pleased to recognize first-time donors such as Arthur M Blank Foundation, Skyline Foundation, Alfred P Sloan Foundation and others. We are equally grateful to the many individual donors, large and small, who are playing an increasingly important role in fueling WRI’s work. This community includes members of our Global Board of Directors, Global Leadership Council, Sustainer’s Circle, and more.
WRI’s mission is vital to all our futures, and through the Campaign for People, Nature and Climate, we welcome all who wish to join us — philanthropists, foundations, corporations and individuals alike. Every gift helps advance our shared vision of a fairer world, a better future and a healthier planet.
Thank you.
