Viviane Sobral Domingos dos Santos
Data Science Analyst, WRI Brasil

Viviane Sobral has six years of experience in geoprocessing, spatial and data analysis, monitoring and remote sensing with a focus on restoration projects.
For the past two years, she has been a Data Science Analyst in WRI Brasil's Forests, Land Use and Agriculture Program, where she collaborates in the collecting, processing, analysis and management of environmental and social data (spatial and alphanumeric). Her work is currently more focused on natural vegetation recovery projects in the Amazon. In this way, she collaborates with the production of scientific knowledge, data generation and data analysis to scale up restoration in the Biome, impacting positively the environment and people's quality of life.
Before joining the WRI Brasil team, Viviane worked as an intern by two years at WWF Brasil, where she subsequently provided consultancy services for another two years, supporting territorial planning and monitoring the restoration process in the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado Biomes. Viviane also provided geoprocessing consultancy services for six months for TNC Brasil.
In the academic area, she graduated in Biological Sciences - Bachelor's Degree from the University of Brasilia and was part of ICMBio's Scientific Initiation Program for a year, where she carried out research related to prioritizing areas for the creation of Private Protected Areas based on their importance for forest fragments connectivity in the Serra do Mar and Bahia Ecoregions (Brazilian Atlantic Forest).
