Victor T. Otieno
Research Associate Energy Access, WRI Africa
Victor Otieno is the Research Associate, Energy Access undertaking research and developing compelling knowledge products under the Energy for Development (E4D) work and leading the implementation of the Sub-National Integrated Energy Planning work.
Prior to joining WRI, Victor was a Researcher at Strathmore Energy Research Centre where he led projects on sub-national energy planning, productive uses of energy and the land use, bioenergy and waste reduction in Kenya. Previously, he worked as part-time lecturer for energy related courses at Kenyatta University and University of Eastern Africa, Baraton and worked as an intern at Climate Fund Managers and Camco Clean Energy supporting investments in clean energy across Africa. Victor is very passionate about energy access planning, modelling and policy within the nexus of Energy, Food, Water and Climate Change nexus.
He holds MSc in Energy Policy from PAUWES, BSc Mechanical Engineering from Kenyatta University and certificates in Project Management, CO-BENEFITS Specialist in Renewable Energy and Energy Modelling (OSeMOSYS and OnSSET).
Victor loves spending time with family and participating in faith-based activities.
