Sharon McCabe
Operations Manager, Greenhouse Gas Protocol

Sharon is the Operations Manager for the Greenhouse Gas Protocol within the Climate, Economics, and Finance Team. Sharon provides Operational oversight and support to the GHGP team to develop standards and tools to help measure, manage, report, and reduce carbon emissions.
Sharon’s previous experience prior to joining the GHGP team includes as a Senior Program Manager for USAID Global Health technical support as well as the Partnerships Manager for WRI’s P4G program, which aims to develop and accelerate innovative public-private partnerships in 5 key SDGs. Sharon has helped numerous projects in the NGO and public sectors develop project management tools and systems that help them achieve their long-term goals.
Sharon holds a Masters degree in Wildlife Conservation from Oxford Brookes University as well as a Bachelors in Biological Sciences from the State University of New York at Geneseo. She has authored several peer-reviewed publications, and prior to moving to the U.S. in 2018, carried out several years of primatological field research in Southeast Asia.
Sharon lives in Silver Spring, Maryland with her husband, two children Thomas & Ellie Quinn, their rescue dog, and dingo. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, gardening, and Irish music.
