Rafael Braz de Oliveira is an Industry Decarbonization Analyst at WRI Brasil. His professional work centers on macroeconomic data analysis and econometric modeling applied to environmental and industrial public policies.
Before joining WRI Brasil, he worked within the representation of the Brazilian industrial sector on the environmental and sustainability agenda. During this period, he worked directly with the sustainable finance agenda in coordination and representation alongside the federal Executive branch, in addition to conducting technical analyses and institutional reports focused on the bioenergy and industrial decarbonization agendas. Previously, he collaborated as a Junior Consultant at the World Bank on a project evaluating social protection reforms in Brazil.
He holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Brasília (UnB), where he developed research evaluating the impact of law enforcement policies on deforestation in the Legal Amazon. Currently, he is a PhD Candidate in Economics at the same institution.
