Marina is a Senior Industry Investment and Decarbonization Analyst in the Climate, Economics and Finance (CEF) Program at WRI Brasil. She conducts research, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement activities to mobilize climate finance to accelerate decarbonization investments in the industrial sector in Brazil, especially in hard-to-abate industries. She also conducts socioeconomic assessments of industrial decarbonization trajectories to support the development of integrated strategies that drive economic prosperity, while fostering a just transition.

Prior to joining WRI Brasil, Marina worked at United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER), where she supported quantitative research about the impacts of climate shocks on income. She also worked at the Finnish Fund for Industrial Cooperation (Finnfund), where she was responsible for collecting and analyzing socioeconomic and climate impact indicators from investments and supporting climate-related disclosures and reports.

Marina holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Business Administration from Aalto University and Helsinki Graduate School of Economics in Finland. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in Brazil, completing part of her studies at the University of Coimbra in Portugal.
