Marcelo Hugo de Medeiros Bezerra

Marcelo de Medeiros is Climate Action Coordinator at WRI Brasil. He is a member of the Climate, Economy and Finance team and collaborates in the coordination of projects and research on increasing climate ambition in Brazil and the implementation of actions for climate neutrality and to increase climate resilience.
Before joining WRI Brasil, Marcelo was Public Policy Coordinator at IMAFLORA, where he coordinated open government projects in Climate, Forests and Agriculture. He was also Climate Change Coordinator at Engajamundo, focusing on monitoring the UNFCCC international negotiations. In addition, Marcelo did a summer internship during his master's degree as a Research Analyst at the Net Zero Regulation and Policy Hub at the University of Oxford, where he developed research on good integrity practices in carbon markets around the world.
Marcelo de Medeiros has a degree in Administration from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), a Postgraduate Degree in Sustainable Projects, Climate Change and Carbon Markets from the Federal University of ParanĂ¡ (UFPR) and a Master's degree in Public Policy from the University of Oxford (UK), with a scholarship from the Lemann Foundation.
