Magdala Satt Arioli is the Transport Decarbonization Manager at WRI Brasil, where she leads initiatives to accelerate the transition to low-carbon passenger and freight transport. Her work focuses on policies and projects that integrate innovation, climate finance, and inclusive development to reduce emissions and advance a just and sustainable transition.

With more than 15 years of experience, Magdala has contributed to strategies aligned with the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals. Her expertise includes sustainable urban infrastructure finance, design of financial mechanisms for climate mitigation and adaptation, greenhouse gas and air pollutant inventories, assessment of transport externalities, as well as projects on building energy efficiency and urban resilience.

She holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in Industrial Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, and earned her master’s and PhD at the same institution with a focus on urban mobility and climate change. Part of her doctoral research was conducted at the Institute of Transportation Studies at the University of California, Davis, specializing in transport decarbonization strategies.
