Kaitlyn Thayer
Communications Manager, Global Forest Watch
Kaitlyn is the Communications Manager for Global Forest Watch and the main point of contact for GFW communications and outreach. Kaitlyn works closely with GFW's data and research team to share platform updates and data releases, and to create content for GFW's social media channels, newsletters and blog.
Prior to this role, Kaitlyn sat within WRI's Core Communications team, where she edited and produced editorial content for Insights and led many institutional communications projects. Before joining WRI, she studied the emergence of the local food movement in Central New York at Hamilton College, and blogged for the Adirondack Council, a nonprofit organization in the Adirondack Park. She also volunteered at several small, organic farms across New York State.
Kaitlyn is based in Boston, Massachusetts and holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Hamilton College. Originally from Rochester, New York, Kaitlyn enjoys cooking, exploring art museums and swimming in Upstate New York lakes.
