Julio Alves is a Sustainable Food Systems Analyst at WRI Brasil’s Forests and Land Use Program, where he provides technical and scientific support for projects advancing sustainable production systems, family farming, and forest landscape restoration. His work connects these themes to address climate adaptation, food production, and equitable land-use transitions.
Julio holds a B.S. in Geography from São Paulo State University and is completing a master’s in Sustainable Development and Extension at the Federal University of Lavras. His research examines climate adaptation strategies for family farmers in the Brazilian Cerrado, emphasizing practical, science-based solutions that align ecological resilience with social equity.
