Joe Versen
Communications & Engagement Coordinator, Electric School Bus Initiative, WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities

Joe Versen is Communications & Engagement Coordinator with the Electric School Bus Initiative. He works to support internal and external communications for the project team.
Prior to joining the Electric School Bus Initiative, Joe worked as a Research & Communications Intern in WRI’s Executive Office. Joe also previously served as a Public Affairs Specialist at the U.S. Department of Labor headquarters in Washington, D.C. He has also recently contributed to research publications on issues of global politics and geoengineering.
Joe holds an M.A in International Affairs and International Economics from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. He has spent time volunteering with refugee families in the D.C. area and participating in grassroots political organizing around progressive issues.
Joe currently lives in Los Angeles, CA, with his partner, Amber, and his cat, Calvin. He enjoys making music and cheering for the Phoenix Suns, the Arizona Coyotes and the Villanova University men’s basketball team.
