Joan Kimaiyo
MERL Associate, Global Restoration Initiative, WRI Africa
Joan Kimaiyo is a MERL Associate with the Restoration team, Vital Landscapes. In this role, she will lead the implementation of the Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification for qualitative data and socioeconomic indicators, working closely with TerraFund project management, product, and monitoring teams. She will also provide oversight of data analysis and evaluation of TerraFund projects.
Before WRI, Joan led implementation, and impact analysis of various Agroforestry research projects in Eastern Africa with the World Agroforestry (CIFOR-ICRAF). She also managed partnerships with the various institutions affiliated with CIFOR-ICRAF.
Joan holds an Msc in Research Methods and Bsc in Mathematics (Statistics) and Computer sciences both obtained from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture Science and Technology (JKUAT). She is also proud alumni of International program for Development Evaluation Training (IPDET).
In her spare time, Joan enjoys reading and spending time with her family in the village.
