Jack Seevers
Project Specialist, Restoration Finance
Jack Seevers is a Project Specialist for the Global Restoration Initiative within the Food, Land, and Water program. As part of the Invest team, he helps manage the implementation of the Priceless Planet Coalition portfolio, working directly with six projects to ensure that they deliver on their targets to restore trees, improve biodiversity, and empower communities. He also supports Capacity & Innovation efforts for the TerraFund program and its sister portfolios, assisting with documenting and enhancing the processes WRI uses to find, fund, manage, and monitor local restoration efforts.
Jack interned with WRI's Global Restoration Initiative for a year while completing his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Philosophy from UC Santa Barbara, where he conducted research with the 2035 Initiative for his senior thesis using machine learning to explore the effects of regulatory policy on corporate biodiversity disclosures. He previously interned with the Natural Resources Defense Council and Conservation International, working on forests, biodiversity, and artificial intelligence, and spent a year abroad at Sciences Po Paris focused on international environmental policy and development.
Away from work, Jack plays jazz trumpet, enjoys cooking and reading, is learning Turkish, and loves to run and play soccer and basketball. He is based just outside of Washington, D.C.
