Iryna Payosova

Iryna Payosova is an Economist at the Climate Action Team.
Iryna brings expertise in environmental economics, science, and policy to facilitate climate action with science-based solutions, enhance resilience and adaptation to climate change, achieve progress on SDGs, and support low-carbon green sustainable development.
Prior to joining the WRI, Iryna worked at the World Bank, at the Environmental and Energy Management Institute in Washington DC, and taught graduate and post-graduate courses at the George Washington University School of Engineering and Applied Science.
Iryna holds a M.Sc. degree in Environmental Science and Policy from Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Kyiv, Ukraine, a M.Sc. degree in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of Arizona, and a Ph.D. in Environmental and Energy Management, Engineering Management, from the George Washington University in Washington D.C.. Her doctoral research focused on identifying net zero energy optimal investment portfolios.
