Douglas Calixto is a journalist with a Master’s and PhD in Communication from the University of São Paulo (ECA-USP, Brazil). Currently, Calixto is also a postdoctoral researcher at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), with experience across various nonprofit and philanthropic organizations. He develops projects, provides consulting, and trains educators to ensure that algorithms, memes, podcasts, AI, and other digital formats can be leveraged to deliver high-quality education aligned with contemporary challenges.

At WRI Brasil, he serves as a Communications Manager, leading the development of impactful narratives and driving the integration of technological innovation into communication strategies.

He is also passionate about music, literature, and film. He was a collegiate athlete in the United States, where he played soccer while pursuing a major in Graphic Design.
