Claire Shapiro is a Project & User Engagement Coordinator in the Forests Department. She supports operations for the Global Restoration Initiative’s TerraMatch platform and assists with user outreach, research, and communications to facilitate the platform’s success and growth.

Before joining WRI, Claire interned at World Wildlife Fund, where she assisted with research, data analysis, and production of the organization’s strategic framework for infrastructure. Claire has a background in non-profit work, including two years managing group sales and coordinating events at ECHO, a leading science and nature center in Vermont.

Claire holds a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Vermont, and a M.S. in Conservation Leadership from Colorado State University. She lives in Washington, DC. Outside of WRI, Claire volunteers with the House Rabbit Society, and enjoys hiking, knitting, and baking.
