Citra Septiani was born in Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Universitas Gadjah Mada. She later earned a Master of Research in Marine Ecosystems and Governance from Newcastle University, UK, through the prestigious LPDP scholarship. Before joining WRI Indonesia as the Marine and Fisheries Research Lead, Citra worked with YAPEKA, where she led various projects on seagrass blue carbon and ecosystem services, dugong conservation, and small-scale shark fishery, particularly in North Sulawesi.

Passionate about the ocean, Citra enjoys swimming and diving, deeply connecting her personal interests with her professional commitment to marine conservation.
