Catherine Beal is a Research Analyst with the Climate Resilience Practice (CRP) within WRI’s Center for Equitable Development. Through research and engagement, she supports CRP's efforts to progress adaptation action and build resilience, especially as it relates to agriculture.

Prior to joining WRI, Catherine was a consultant for the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) where she conducted research on climate-smart agriculture adoption and participatory action research with a focus on gender and social inclusion.

Catherine holds a MSc in Climate Change, Agriculture, and Food Security from the National University of Ireland, Galway. She completed her thesis research in collaboration with CIAT Vietnam, which focused on identifying channels to improve the delivery of climate information services to marginalized coffee farmers in Vietnam. Catherine holds a BA in Peace & Justice Studies as well as Communications, both from Pace University.

Catherine lives in Washington, D.C., and in her free time she enjoys hiking, cooking, reading, and live music.
