Arliza Nathania G. Hutagalung
Energy Research Assistant, WRI Indonesia

Thania started to work at WRI Indonesia as an intern and continues to serve as a Research Assistant in Energy Program. She is involved in various energy projects from developing electric vehicle for Bali Provincial Government, researching green bond performance for RE project, analysing impact of PLN Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) and giving other assistant under the Clean Energy of Investment Accelerator (CEIA).
Prior to joining WRI, she loved to enrich her experience and explore various industry by working with the government body and global management consulting. She worked under the Multilateral Foreign Funding in Indonesia’s National Planning Agency, Infrastructure and Capital Project Advisory at Deloitte Indonesia and worked as a student intern at Boston Consulting Group. Able to understand from various point of view and think structurally, she hopes to contribute in fostering Indonesia’s climate and clean energy sector.
In 2016, she holds a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning from Bandung Institute of Technology. She served as a junior researcher at ITB Climate Change Centre research lab, where she published a report of international collaborative study on mapping actor interaction in Indonesia’s energy sector. During her college year, she was honoured with numbers of academic awardees and national merit scholarship from Djarum Foundation and XL Axiata.
During her spare time, she voluntarily builds Society of Renewable Energy (SRE) Women, a non-profit organization that aims to accelerate Indonesia’s renewable energy and principle of gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) within, through providing a dynamic and supportive ecosystem for undergraduate students and young professional. Contribute to issue that she concerns with; she has been awarded as the Next Generation Women Leaders 2021 from McKinsey and Company.
Thania loves to read books about life and wellness, watch thriller movies, try out new recipe, wanders to new places and spend time with her family, boyfriend and her beloved dog in her leisure time.
