Ana Loreta Paiva is a Senior Research Analyst at the Forests, Land Use and Agriculture Program at WRI Brasil. She is part of the Caatinga team and collaborates in the methodology and development of activities and research linked to landscape and forest restoration projects. In addition, she is a member of the Executive Board of the Caatinga Restoration Network (RECAA).

Before joining WRI Brasil, Ana worked as a Researcher and Project Manager at the private initiative, working on the ecological restoration and sustainable agriculture agenda. She was also Head of the Sustainable Forest Restoration and Management Service, in the Management of the Forest Service of the State Institute of the Environment of Rio de Janeiro (INEA), the body responsible for state policies on the environment, water resources and forest resources in the state. In addition, she participated in research projects in rural development, family farming and agroecology.

Ana Loreta is an Agronomist Engineer from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ) and a Master in Territorial Development and Public Policies from the same institution.
