ADVISORY: Press Call: Expectations from UN General Assembly

WASHINGTON (September 12, 2016) – The UN General Assembly (UNGA) will commence tomorrow, and this year’s calendar of events includes a Paris Agreement ratification event hosted by the UN Secretary General. UNGA has long been an important platform for climate and energy-related topics, and the 2016 Assembly is a major opportunity to drive the Paris Agreement closer to entry into force and set the tone for COP22 in Marrakech.

On Tuesday, September 13, at 10:00 a.m. EDT, World Resources Institute will host a press call with experts Manish Bapna, Paula Caballero, and David Waskow on potential outcomes and implications of UNGA and the ratification event.

Speakers will reflect on key issues to watch at UNGA, the Paris Agreement’s ratification progress thus far, and the milestones between now and COP22 that can accelerate climate action in the short and long-term.
