The Global Transformation Agenda on Water Investments will launch the Latin America & Caribbean Water Investment Programme (LAC-IP), guided by a High-Level Panel of Heads of State and Leaders, to mobilize USD 20 billion in climate-resilient water investments by 2030. The LAC-IP establishment is part of scaling up the Africa Water Investment Programme (AIP) into a Global Water Investment Platform, led by the Global Outlook Council on Water Investments—a G20 Presidential Legacy Initiative launched by H. E. President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa in August 2025. The Council and Platform aim to serve as the leading global forum for advancing water and climate resilience and closing the US$140 billion global annual water investment gap. The event will showcase the AIP’s achievements thus far in leveraging up to US$12 billion in climate resilient water security and sustainable sanitation in Africa. The session will also highlight the transformative impact of investment in implementation of urban water resilience projects in Africa, showcasing WRI’s work with three cities in South Africa, Ethiopia and Rwanda.
