The Adaptation Action Coalition will host a four-part virtual event series starting on March 11 on the latest Working Group II contribution to the Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) on Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability.

The AAC is a coalition of countries chaired by the UK and Egypt, who have come together to elevate adaptation on the global climate change agenda and accelerate global action to achieve a climate resilient world by 2030.

The series will kick off on Friday, March 11 with a high-level session featuring keynote speaker and IPCC Working Group II co-chair, Dr. Debra Roberts, who will provide an overview of the report findings. Dr. Roberts will be joined by Ambassador Nick Bridge, Special Representative for Climate Change (UK) and other high-level adaptation champions.

The following two sessions will unpack the science on key AAC workstream sector issues: water, infrastructure, health, and locally led adaptation. These sessions will bring together IPCC authors and technical experts and ask the question: how do we turn IPCC science into action in order to advance adaptation progress and achieve a climate resilient world?

In the final session, four AAC member countries will share on-the-ground successes and challenges in implementing adaptation action across sectors. Registration links can be found below – we hope that you will join us for one or more events in this exciting series.
