In this video, Yesenia Ledezma of the Ministry of Finance for Costa Rica explains how green procurement standards can be used to help countries achieve their climate goals. On average, public procurement represents between 13% and 20% of a country’s gross domestic product. Ensuring that these government purchases support a country’s climate goals aligns public resources with NDC targets while changing the behavior of different stakeholders throughout the value chain.
