William Addo is the Enterprise Investment Manager, Restoration Finance at WRI Africa, based in Accra Ghana.

With a strong background in Development finance, William has supported MSMEs in agribusiness across Ghana and Nigeria. He has extensive experience in business plan development, cash flow analysis, and advising on securing financing for SMEs.

Before joining WRI, William served as an Investment Officer at Oikocredit Ghana, where he played a crucial role in sourcing and facilitating investments within the agriculture and financial sectors. In this capacity, he worked closely with SMEs in these sectors to identify opportunities for growth and provided financial support to scale their operations. He also contributed to the USAID West Africa Trade and Investment Project as part of the Investment Component team, facilitating over USD 60 million in investments for 40 SMEs focused on various agriculture value chains.

At WRI, William will play a critical role in identifying, screening and channeling investments to companies operating in the Ghana Cocoa Belt. He will also play an integral role in forging partnerships with mission aligned and complimentary blended finance investors and financial institutions to drive investment into restoration.

He holds a BSc in Physics from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), an MSc in Actuarial Science from Glasgow Caledonian University and is currently pursuing an MBA in Accounting & Finance at the University of Professional Studies, Accra. At a personal level, William is a passionate supporter of Accra Hearts of Oak and Real Madrid football clubs, enjoys playing football, watching movies and reading novels in his leisure time.
