Weiqi is a Research Assistant for Resource Watch. She supports the development and management of the Resource Watch platform by updating geospatial datasets, maintaining near real-time scripts, and conducting data analysis for projects.

Prior to joining WRI, Weiqi worked as a research associate at the University of Michigan. Her research used high-resolution remote sensing and machine learning in the field of sustainable agriculture. She has led several research projects, including modeling the zero-tillage practices in India and Mexico, and mapping major crop types of smallholder farms in the Indo-Gangetic Plains of India.

Weiqi has a B.S. degree in Geographical Information Science from Wuhan University, and an M.S. degree in Environment and Sustainability from the University of Michigan.

In her free time, she enjoys tennis, squash, and movies.
