T. Nandakumar is a senior fellow with the Sustainable Landscapes and Restoration program’s FOLU team at World Resources Institute India. Here he provides guidance on food, agriculture, and nutrition policy issues.

He has more than four decades of experience in policy and programme implementation in Government of India. He has worked at top positions with the government as secretary, food, agriculture, and animal husbandry. He was also the Chairman of National Dairy Development Board and Spices Board of India. Apart from practical experience, he brings with him research experience on policy matters in this sector.

Nandakumat completed a master’s in physics before joining the Indian Administrative Service. He has written a number of articles on policy matters in leading newspapers and advises state governments on development and governance.
