Shailesh is the Chief Operations and Information Director for WRI. He helps ensure WRI’s programs, country offices, and support functions work together as a highly effective global network; a “One WRI” that retains WRI’s essential organizational culture and “DNA”. Shailesh leads WRI’s global operations and ensures they are well integrated strategically and operationally through a culture of operational and process excellence. Shailesh leads the Global Information Technology, Process Automation, Facilities and Sustainability functions at WRI.

Shailesh has provided strategic oversight in setting up WRI Operations in 10 countries across the WRI network. In his previous role, Shailesh used to head Operations for WRI India and helped set up WRI India in 2011. In his previous jobs, Shailesh had over a decade of experience providing organization change and marketing strategy advice to organizations and, helped expand multinational firms set up their operations function to scale effectively.

Shailesh joined WRI from SapientNitro in London, a marketing and strategy consultancy. In his last role there, he helped set up a center of excellence in the United Kingdom to help develop and implement organization wide digital strategy for financial services clients across Europe including HSBC, Barclays, and BNP Paribas.

Shailesh holds a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from Mumbai University and an MBA from XLRI - Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur.
