Phanuella Djanteng is the Congo Basin Engagement Associate, Global Forest Watch. She serves as the primary focal point for engagement with regional actors, growing the usership and impact of WRI solutions related to forest monitoring data and technology, cultivating partnerships, and sharing target audience insights and strategies.

Prior to joining WRI, Phanuella worked for 8 years both as Programme Assistant and Project Manager, at the Service d'Appui aux Initiatives Locales de Développement, a leading Cameroonian-based NGO. There, she championed programs on independent forest monitoring and geospatial forest monitoring - she successfully enabled key players, including local actors, to use geospatial data to combat deforestation within and around protected areas.

Phanuella holds a Master of Science Degree from the University of Yaoundé I, Cameroon in Environmental Restoration, a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Buea, Cameroon, and numerous certificates in project management, leadership and communication with impact.

In her spare time, Phanuella practices singing.
