Nate Shelter is a Senior Communications Manager & Editor on WRI's Core Communications team. Nate previously served as the Communications Manager for the Global Commission on Adaptation within WRI, where he helped raise the political visibility of climate adaptation and led several global communications campaigns.

Prior to joining WRI, Nate was the senior communications manager at Crosscut Strategies, a strategic communications and public affairs firm, where he led policy advocacy campaigns for clean energy and tech clients, including the national solar association. Nate previously led communications for the U.S. Department of Energy's buildings efficiency program during the Obama administration, including key initiatives on appliance efficiency standards, hydrofluorocarbons, and grid modernization. Nate has worked at several DC and Boston-based communications firms, including Glover Park Group, Greenough Communications, and Allied Integrated Marketing.

Nate holds a B.A. in Public Communication from American University and a minor in history.

Nate lives in Washington, DC, and in his spare time, enjoys reading, running, and catching live music shows at DC's many great venues.
