Mridula Sarji
Junior Program Associate, WRI India
Mridula Sarji is a Junior Program Associate with the Climate Resilience Practice team, where she contributes to research and implementation support on climate adaptation, public finance, and local governance. Based in Delhi, she works across multiple projects focused on strengthening government systems for long-term climate action.
Mridula brings an interdisciplinary background in law, public policy, and development practice. Prior to joining WRI, she worked in Koraput, Odisha on millet-based livelihoods as a part of SBI YFI Fellowship. She was also part of an agri-fintech company based in Mumbai, where she worked on studies related to farming systems and agri-tech use in rural Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.
Mridula holds a Master’s in Public Policy from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. For her thesis, she explored how state budgets support climate resilience, with a case study on Odisha’s adaptation-oriented public spending.
She also holds an LL.M. in Constitutional Law from The Indian Law Institute, Delhi and briefly practiced law before transitioning into research and policy. Her interests lie at the intersection of public institutions, social equity, and systemic climate challenges.
Originally from Kerala, Mridula is based in New Delhi. Outside of work, she enjoys travel, food, cinema, and conversations that untangle complex questions.
