Martin Sommerschuh is Senior Manager for Partnerships and Impact at Global Nature Watch. He helps turn Global Nature Watch data and tools into real-world action for nature, climate, and people by building partnerships, supporting user engagement, and connecting the dots between geospatial innovation and sustainability frameworks. He focuses on outreach and dialogue with various user groups to ensure that Global Nature Watch tools are accessible and responsive to their needs.

Prior to this role, Martin was Engagement Manager for Land & Carbon Lab. He joined WRI from the United Nations Development Programme, where he was project manager and program specialist at the Equator Initiative, which advances Indigenous peoples’ and local community solutions to the biodiversity and climate crises.

Martin holds an MA in Political Science from the University of Munich. He lives in New York City with his partner. In his spare time, he can be found outdoors hiking or training for his next marathon.
