Mark Falinski is Senior Manager for Power Transition and Decarbonization at the WRI Polsky Center for the Global Energy Transition. He leads research, modeling and policy engagement on electricity demand growth and clean energy solutions, focused on decarbonizing the power sector.

Prior to joining WRI, Mark served as a Climate Fellow in the U.S. House of Representatives through the AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellowship, where he developed legislation on grid efficiency and utility incentive reform. Before that, he was a climate and sustainability consultant at Boston Consulting Group, where he advised on decarbonization strategy and modeled critical materials supply chains for the energy transition. He led research and sustainability efforts at an early-stage consumer technology startup.

Mark holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Yale University, a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University at Buffalo and conducted postdoctoral research at Princeton University's Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment. He lives in Washington, DC, where he spends his free time playing soccer, tennis and disc golf, and adventuring outdoors with his partner.
