Lily Begg is a Countries Coordination Specialist for the Food and Land Use Coalition (FOLU). In this role, she coordinates FOLU’s activities across its Country Platforms to influence regional food-related policy and actions in South America, Africa and Europe.

Prior to working at the WRI, Lily worked as a food systems expert in the FOLU Colombia country platform team with the consultancy Grupo E3. She was responsible for reporting and strategic planning, as well as developing proposals and contributing her knowledge to various knowledge products. Lily also helped implement the Climate Finance Accelerator (CFA) program in Colombia for two operational cycles.

Between 2020-2022, Lily co-founded and managed an agroecological small-scale farm in southern Sweden. During this time she helped secure funding and land for the business, elect a management board, execute two production seasons and manage a CSA sales scheme, weekly markets, workshops and practical internships for other students.

Lily has a master's in Agricultural Sciences with a specialisation in Agroecology from SLU (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences) and a bachelor's in French and Italian from Oxford University. Fun fact: Lily will dance to anything with a Latin beat, from salsa to forró to champeta!
