Dr. Kynai Johnson (ella/she/her) is the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) within WRI's Global Human Resources Network. In this role, she supports WRI’s ongoing journey to become a more inclusive, diverse and anti-racist organization.

Prior to joining WRI, Kynai taught graduate courses in DEI on topics including cultural humility, LGBTQIA+ equity, race equity, and anti oppression practices. She also served at the Latin American Youth Center in Washington, D.C. in many roles, including as the Director of Education. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and she has facilitated DEI dialogues at conferences and workshops globally.

Kynai holds a PhD and a master’s degree in social work from the Catholic University of America, and a B.A. in Spanish and Communications from Washington and Lee University.
