Kelly Lefler
Senior Manager, Grid Decarbonization and Markets, WRI U.S. Polsky Energy Center
Kelly Lefler is the Senior Manager for Grid Decarbonization and Markets. She leads programs related to the transmission system and electricity markets to enable decarbonization of the power sector.
Prior to joining WRI, Kelly worked at the U.S. Department of Energy for ten years on a broad range of energy technology and policy topics. Most recently she served as Deputy Director for Resource Adequacy in the Grid Deployment Office leading programs that supported clean firm generation, supported the improvement and expansion of wholesale electricity markets, and executed DOE’s transmission permitting authorities.
Kelly holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Northwestern University and B.S.s in Chemistry and Science, Technology, and Culture from Georgia Tech. She is an avid triathlete who lives in Washington, DC, with her husband, son, and two cats.
