Joyce Javillonar is the Special Assistant to WRI’s Energy Program. Joyce provides administrative and program management support to the Global Director, Deputy Director, and program and international office leads. She helps coordinate special projects, and internal and external events, and undertakes research on emerging or current issues to inform strategy and project development.

Prior to joining WRI, Joyce worked on environment programs in the Philippines and East Asia region where she gained extensive experience in program management, multi-agency coordination, and education and capacity building. She was project coordinator for WWF-Philippines’ marine species program, and training and program coordinator for a UN regional program covering 12 countries in East Asia, while concurrently acting as project officer for Cambodia and DPR Korea. As manager of the environment program of the US Peace Corps in the Philippines, Joyce developed and implemented the environment program framework, designed the technical training program, and supervised more than 100 Peace Corps volunteers.

Joyce holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of the Philippines.
