Joyce Javillonar
Manager, Energy Program

Joyce Javillonar is Manager of Special Projects at WRI’s Energy Program. Joyce coordinates the program strategy development, making sure that work in specific geographies aligns and contributes to the energy system transition goals. She oversees the program planning, monitoring, evaluation, and learning, and shares lessons and best practices to advance the strategy.
Prior to joining WRI, Joyce worked on environment programs in the Philippines and East Asia region and had extensive experience in program management, stakeholder engagement, education and capacity building. As project coordinator for WWF-Philippines’ marine species program, she facilitated the development of a community-based whale shark ecotourism program. She coordinated regional training and was project officer for Cambodia and DPR Korea in a UN regional program on Partnerships in Environmental Management for the Seas of East Asia (PEMSEA). As the environment program manager of the US Peace Corps in the Philippines, Joyce developed and implemented the environment program framework, designed the technical training program, and supervised more than 100 Peace Corps volunteers.
Joyce holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of the Philippines. She loves to travel and enjoys hiking, biking and kayaking with her husband and daughter.
